Our Philosophy on Food
We live on, and often for, food. And yet the same food can shorten this life and reduce its quality. There are so many approaches to food and diet, each with its own justifications. At the simplest level, and a principle of Ayurveda and thus yoga, food should be both delicious and nutritious. To keep it natural means all homemade without processed food, local ingredients as much as possible, organic if available, and a well-balanced mix of ingredients. Equally, to keep it healthy in today’s modern food environment means no sugar, no iodized salt, no MSG or related products, and only the use of stable and healthy oils and fats.
Vitality and quality of life are directly influenced by the food you take which impacts your energy levels. It affects practice and activity progress. We care about that here and do our best to serve you food that is natural, healthy, and absolutely delicious.
An Approach to Food
Your stay at Samahita, on any program or package, includes a complete offering of carefully crafted menus across our buffets. We believe offering a variety of mostly vegetarian cuisines, allows you to fully immerse yourself in health and wellness, rooting from how you choose to sustain the incredible body you find yourself in. Not only the ingredients, but the preparation processes of your food are vital to energizing life and how your body gets cleaner, lighter and stronger. Hidden ingredients like oils, salt and refined sugar, along with bad food combinations, are often the main culprits behind low energy, weight gain, poor digestion, disturbed sleep, and a variety of other maladies. Together with our award winning Consultant Chef, the culinary team ensures that all our food is homemade, prepared fresh with love and care. Meal service times are even curated to complement your practice and activity. Coffee, tea and bananas are available to start your day from 6:45am. Brunch starts at 10am and is replenished until 1.30pm with breakfast items 10am – 12pm and lunch from 11am. Dinner is available from 6-8pm and even features a dessert which aligns with our ingredient promise. We cater to all dietary needs, thoughtfully displaying allergens, offering raw and vegan options while also providing for those who like to eat fish, poultry and dairy. We juice fresh fruit and vegetables daily for the brunch buffet and offer homemade soy milk, coconut milk, cow milk, brown rice milk, and a homemade electrolyte drink. All of this and more fully available for both your taste buds and your cells when you stay at Samahita.
Buffet
We offer a complimentary buffet to you during your stay at Samahita. Daily choices of plates will be served to you, with additional options spread out across our buffet. We also offer additional protein option of your choice which is prepared to order at dinner with your choice of Fish, Prawn, Tofu or Poultry.
